Metallica’s James Hetfield has lifted the lid on the progress of the next Metallica album.
Speaking to Australia’s Triple M, backstage at Soundwave Festival, the singer revealed:
“Yeah, we’re trying to write [new material] but gigs keep popping up that are too exciting to stay home for.” He later added: “We have lots of material [we've been] working on from the day Death Magnetic ended all the way up until now.”
Metallica are set to play Abu Dhabi’s du Arena at Yas Island next (19th April), they then head to South Africa (24th / 27th April), before being honoured and performing at this year’s Revolver Golden Gods Awards on May 2nd.
The band’s long-awaited 3D concert movie ‘Metallica Through the Never’ will receive a theatrical release on Aug 9th.
