With a few days to go until its official release on April 15th, Fall Out Boy have uploaded all the tracks from their new album ‘Save Rock And Roll’.
As the band put it in their official statement regarding the posting:
“This album is one that is particularly close to us. We recorded it in secret from the music industry, critics, and even our fans. An artist’s first record sounds the way it does because it is often made without expectations. This is not our first record, but because of the way we went about making this one in the shadows, it is without a doubt the first record in a new chapter of Fall Out Boy.”
It’s one of the most eagerly anticipated returns of the year, and at least now we know what it’s going to look like.
Fall Out Boy have released the artwork (above) for their forthcoming album ‘Save Rock And Roll’ which is due for release on April 15th.
The band issued the following statement regarding their cover choice:
‘When we were beginning the journey of making this record we wanted to find some inspirational images. we came across the punk and monk image on the Internet and it really solidified what we were trying to get across on the record – the idea of old and new clashing. tradition and change coming together. there was something striking about it. obviously this is an image that means a lot to many people – we felt like we wanted to be part of this conversation. these kids represent the youth, change and irreverence that we hope our record is listened to with. at the end of the day we just want to take the rules and start all over with save rock and roll anyway.
Shout out to Roger Stonehouse for capturing the original photo and allowing us to share it with the world.’

First they announced they were back, then there were the live dates set for later this year and a new album, now it seems it’s all going to happen a lot quicker than we thought.
According to a statement issued by the band, ‘Save Rock and Roll’ will now be release worldwide in April not May as originally announced. The statement issued by the band reads:
“So when we got this all rolling we didn’t expect it to be so crazy. But we weren’t kidding when we said we had the album done – so why wait? It means the world to us the way you have welcomed us back. ‘Save Rock and Roll’ now out early, April 15/16 worldwide.”
The album will of course include current single ‘My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)’. Check out the video below -
The band are scheduled to play the Reading & Leeds Festival in the UK (August 23rd -25th) alongside System Of A Down, Bring Me The Horizon, Deftones, Biffy Clyro and many more.
Currently celebrating their first UK number one album ‘Opposites’, Biffy Clyro have become the second co-headline act to be announced for this year’s Reading & Leeds festivals, taking place on the 23rd – 25th August 2013.
