Alter Bridge are set to return to Europe for the first time since November 2011, with a sixteen date tour later this year, beginning October 24th in Paris. The band are currently in the studio working on a new album which is currently scheduled for release later this year in September.
A limited number of tickets for the tour will be onsale via http://alterbridge.seetickets.com/tour/ALTER-BRIDGE from Wednesday 3rd April at 10am (CET), whilst the rest will go on general release from Friday 5th April at 10am (CET) priced at £25 regionally / £26.50 London.
Supporting the band throughout the tour will be Shinedown and Grammy winners Halestorm, who recently finished a very successful UK tour and appeared in a recent episode of AmpRockTV’s ‘The Spotlight’ (see below).
Shinedown’s lead singer Brent Smith is excited to get back to the UK stating: “We are truly honoured to be playing with Alter Bridge in the UK this year. We are such big fans of the band, and admire them greatly. Rock n’ roll is a way of life for all of us in Shinedown, and we are so excited to be a part of such an amazing tour!”

Originally recorded with the vocal team-up of Ozzy Osbourne and Lita Ford, Disturbed frontman Dave Draiman’s side-project Device have released a cover version of the track ‘Close My Eyes’ featuring Draiman and Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale taking on the duet.
The track is taken from Device’s debut album ‘Vilify’ which is set for release on April 9th.

Halestorm are this year’s winners of the Best Hard Rock Metal Performance at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards.
Seeing off strong competition from Anthrax’s ‘I’m Alive’, Iron Maiden’s ‘Blood Brothers’, Lamb Of God’s ‘Ghost Walking’, Marilyn Manson’s ‘No Reflection’ and Megadeth’s ‘Whose Life (Is it Anyways?’ the Pennsylvanian rockers took home the prize for their track ‘Love Bites (So Do I)’ from their 2nd album ‘The Strange Case Of…’
Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine graciously took to Twitter moments after the result to Tweet – “Congrats to Halestorm for Best rock Performance Grammy! F**king awesome”. He was soon joined by many others praising the band’s success including Slash, Corey Taylor and Asking Alexandria’s Danny Worsnop.
Halestorm are set to return to the UK in March for a string of UK dates before they join Bullet For My Valentine on the road later that same month.

The fifth annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards will take place on May 2nd 2013 at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia and looks set to be the biggest yet.
Five Finger Death Punch, Dillinger Escape Plan, Anthrax and Halestorm will all perform on the night, alongside Metallica who will this year be receiving the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award.
Rob Zombie is set to become this year’s ‘Golden God’ (following in the footsteps of previous winners such as Alice Cooper ) whilst the ‘Riff Lord’ award will go to Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi.
